Without The Cornerstone, Trump Will Be The Least Of Our Divisions

This has been one of the most - if not the most - divisive election season I've ever witnessed - particularly among Christians. I mean, I've been unfriended and yelled at - we've even had one woman quit coming to our church because we didn't extol the virtues of her candidate. We've had Christian leaders come out for different candidates, all claiming different reasons for their decisions.
This morning, I read the scripture below and it occurred to me why this election season has been so divided and angry.

Before the 1970's, the Bible was openly taught in public schools. Little by little, over the years teachers became indoctrinated in the ways of John Dewey and Horace Mann - socialist/communist sympathizers both.

As they took into their classrooms their new philosophy of secular humanism, they began instructing the children not in the way they should go, but the opposite of the way they should go. Parents, never considering this would occur, were left in the dark by ignorance.

Why would teachers of all people, lead their children away from the Lord?

Unfortunately, though the truth of this misleading has finally come into the light, parents, with eyes firmly shut to the truth, have continued to lead their kids up onto the alter of humanism year after year, in turn, churning out subsequent generations of kids growing further from the Lord, tangled more strongly in the roots of the world.

Why are we fighting with one another? Why have we so many thoughts different from one another?
Because even we so called Christians no longer believe in the CORNERSTONE - the ONE who is to unify us through His message. He imparts one message from one book. If we were all following the one path, we'd be unified. Instead, we all want something different to satisfy our emotional needs not using the wisdom imparted by the Holy Spirit, but that indoctrinated in us by the world. We all want to use the one message to say what we want it to say - to justify our own actions.

There is no fix for this situation but Jesus and prayer.

Frankly, we need to break the cord that tethers us to our electronics. We need to spend more time introspecting to determine where we are failing and more prayer to expose our failings. Until we once again believe in the CORNERSTONE we will be divided in voice and mind and heart.

Either way, God will have His day. He will sort us like the wheat we are and in the end we will wail - unless we quickly wake up and begin praying in earnest for salvation.

“See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” 7 Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” 8 and, “A stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for. 1Peter:4-10.
